As a follow-on to the previous Exige Cup racing models, the Exige V6 Cup removes many elements of road trim to reach an optimised lightweight performance sportscar, with on-track successes in mind. The 345bhp (350PS) supercharged V6 engine provides its balanced performance edge. Totally track-focused, its aerodynamics and hip-hugging cabin, underline its purpose. Yet, its on-road talents are not compromised. The purity of its driving capabilities is a Lotus remit that promotes the sensation of race driver intimacy with the car. The Exige V6 Cup is a performance car developed for racing drivers by equally passionate racers. Developed expertly by the renowned Lotus ride and handling team, at the Hethel test track, its dynamic capabilities are awe-inspiring, in the way that only a Lotus can be.
With its punchy 3.5-litre V6 engine, the Exige V6 Cup applies its supercharged immediacy to tremendous effect. Its throttle response is race-car instant. Its weight distribution encourages a thrilling handling envelope. Its inherent mechanical grip is perfect for the racetracks of the world, while being suitable for weekday on-road use. Its aural thrills are no less inspiring.
Underpinning every Exige V6 Cup is the most efficient, strongest and low weight, extruded and bonded chassis-tub. Based on more than 60 years of racing car developments, its torsional rigidity is uncompromised. It allows the adjustable suspension to work most productively, to provide unparalleled grip, especially on tight hairpins and in the cut and thrust of competition, along with a dynamic balance that is without peers.
Lotus incorporates all FIA-approved safety equipment within its Exige V6 Cup as elements of the overall design intentions, including race seats and runners. An in-built roll bar, with optional front cage, keeps the competitor safe. The Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) ensures that the driver can harness the high potential of the engine and its chassis through four programmed settings with antilock four-pot brakes to help avoid hazards.
